Greenbelt extended on South side

GREENBELT SOUTH (in Garden City). You may or may not be aware that the greenbelt on the south side of the river has been extended from 44th Street to 52nd Street. So you can get on and go nonstop from Joe's Crab Shack almost to the Fairgrounds. (BikeBoy did a reconaissance ride a week or so ago; it was done except for a short stretch between 45th and 46th... and along that stretch was an adjoining parking lot that proved to be comfortable riding.) Unfortunately, it isn't contiguous... at 52nd Street it ends, and you have to ride out near Adams. Then you can ride back over to the farther-west-bound greenbelt on Remington (behind the horse track). There are a couple stretches that are marginal for transportation cycling due to narrowness, twists and turns, etc., but just fine for recreational cycling. CHECK IT OUT!
