Cartwright Road Closure

Cartwright Road from the intersection of Dry Creek Road to Pierce Park Lane will be reconstructed over the next six months to create a wider, safer road. The developers of Cartwright Ranch are doing the project, which was required by the Ada County Highway District. Cartwright will be expanded from a 22-foot-wide road to a 32-foot-wide road with two, 11-foot-wide vehicle lanes and two, 4-foot-wide paved shoulders for cyclists, pedestrians and stalled cars. The road will be closed during construction, which starts on April 14, 2008 and will end in early October. Extensive earth moving forced the road closure. The Cartwright hill between Dry Creek and Pierce Park will be reduced by about 15 feet and the grade reduced from 12-to-14 percent to 10 percent. The Cartwright/Pierce Park intersection will also be rebuilt.
