Commuting safe route maps

Anybody know of a resource that has maps that indicate safe and smooth bike routes around the treasure valley? I would love to be able to pull up a map and figure out a route to and from where I need to go without having to drive the routes prior to see if I am going to get nailed by a car if I ride someplace new. I am primarily a roady when I commute but sometimes will take my Mt bike out when the weather is not as nice or the sanding of the roads during snow is piled high along the sides after the snow melts. So both types of routes are appreciated (road+trail & just road)
